DESCRIPTION:The 17th Annual Chris Ashman Wellness & Recovery Conference will be held on Wednesday\, December 12th at Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor\, NY.  The focus of this year's conference is "Nothing About Me\, Without Me:  Recovery is a Story Only You Can Write".  The speakers and panelists throughout the full-day program all have a common message: peer services and support provide tremendous benefits and complements clinical services.  Presentations include a panel of Mental Health Leaders from Dutchess\, Orange\, Sullivan\, and Ulster Counties speaking about what is new in mental health and substance abuse services\; keynote presentations on the value of peer services\; workshop on nutrition and self-care strategies\; and a panel presentation on the four different children's services/programs offered in the Mid-Hudson region.\n\n \n\nWe are expecting over 200 attendees from the agencies that service the mental health system including individuals receiving mental health services\, mental health professionals\, executive level staff\, peer specialists/professionals\, medical professionals\, family members\, and service providers from Orange\, Ulster\, Sullivan\, Rockland and Dutchess Counties. The ticket cost is $40 per person that includes continental breakfast\, lunch\, and attendance to the day's presentations.
