SUMMARY:Local Volunteers Needed on June 24th\, 2018!
DESCRIPTION:Beginning and ending in Victor C. Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie\, NY\, right next to the Metro-North train station\, and centered around the Walkway Over the Hudson the world's longest footbridge the Discover Hudson Valley Ride offers routes that range from 15 to 100 miles. For some riders\, that means taking it easy on one of the shorter routes and simply enjoying the gorgeous scenery of the area\; for others\, it means discovering what they're capable of over 100 miles and more than 5\,800 feet of climbing. Proceeds from the event fund Bike New York's free bike education programs. \n\nVolunteers are a key factor in the success of this annual event and locals familiar with the area are especially helpful in creating a welcoming environment\, as participants navigate the Hudson Valley's majestic roads. We are in need of stationary marshals across the route\, riding marshals\, assistants at some of our designated rest areas\, or even at our Finish Festival in Poughkeepsie. As mentioned\, our ride begins and ends in Poughkeepsie\, but travels over to Lloyd\, Hyde Park\, Netherwood\, Town of Clinton (Rhinebeck)\, Red Hook\, and Elizaville\, so there are lots of options! In exchange for your assistance we offer an event branded t-shirt\, brakfast/lunch (if you're at the Festival or Rest Areas)\, snacks\, and possibly a few other perks. Email vols@bike.nyc or visit our volunteer page at https://www.bike.nyc/volunteer/volunteer-opportunities/discover-hudson-valley-ride/ for more information.
