SUMMARY:Santiago Cohen: Short Stories of Color and Light Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Dates: Dec 1-21\, 2018\n\n\n\nOpening Reception: Dec 1\, 2018\, 3-6pm \n\nArtist Talk: First Friday\, Dec 7\, 5-6pm\, reception to follow\n\n\n\nArtist Statement: \n\n"As a visual storyteller I want the viewer of my work to discover interesting political\, social or environmental stories\, and it doesn't matter if we coincide with my point of view. There is not a single way to narrate them\, because the viewer has to relate to what I am showing to impact their own experience. \n\nWhen I work on each one of them I explore inside my head to discover what is affecting me in that moment. In my process I depend on the mistakes that I make to correct them to make unusual and oneiric landscapes. I generally look for images that I love and combine them with memories of my life to tell the stories."\n\n\n\nBio: Santiago Cohen is a Mexican/American artist living in Jersey City\, NJ.\n\n\n\nhttp://www.santiagocohen.com/\n\n\n\nFor more info on this event and other exhibitions coming up at Barrett Art Center please visit our website: www.barrettartcenter.org
