DESCRIPTION:A panel of civil rights scholars and educators will discuss the research\, design and public reception of the FDR Library's 2023-24 special exhibit\, "Black Americans\, Civil Rights\, and the Roosevelts\, 1932-1962\," while exploring the historical complexities of the Roosevelts' role in the civil rights movement and its relevance to today's fight for social justice.\nThe lecture is facilitated by the Handel Family Endowed Chair to Perpetuate the Legacy of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. \n\n\n\nThis is a free community event. Call (845) 431-8400 for more information. Please request sign language interpreting services or other special accommodations at least two weeks prior to the event by contacting Linda Bertolozzi at (845) 431-8058 or bertoloz@sunydutchess.edu.
