This year's cocktail reception will feature a keynote address from Jane Bryant Quinn, a leading commentator on personal finance, with books and columns read and trusted by millions. Her newest book, “How to Make Your Money Last: The Indispensable Retirement Guide” is a top seller. Quinn’s previous book, “Making the Most of Your Money,” was published in 1991 as a comprehensive guide to personal finance and is now in its third edition: “Making the Most of Your Money NOW.”
 
In 2010, Quinn co-founded Daily Voice (dailyvoice.com), which brings local news to 76 communities in Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties all online. As a columnist for the AARP Monthly Bulletin, she covers topics such as the many issues facing those in mid- and later-life, including saving money, managing debt, planning for retirement, and investing. She also covers financial topics on her website, JaneBryantQuinn.com.
 
Quinn’s career includes long-running columns in Newsweek magazine, Good Housekeeping, Woman’s Day, and a newspaper column syndicated by the Washington Post. She has worked extensively in television – as a financial correspondent on the CBS Morning News and the Evening News with Dan Rather and on PBS, she hosted her own program, “Take Charge!” Quinn’s numerous awards include an Emmy for excellence in TV journalism.

Bestowed annually, the ATHENA Award is given to a member of the community who best embodies the ATHENA Leadership Model. The Model is unique in that it focuses on personal traits of strong, successful leaders. It captures the spirit and collaborative leadership style often exemplified in women leaders, while also recognizing the importance of traits such as courageous acts and fierce advocacy in the pursuit of excellence.
