Every Kid in a Park: Junior Ranger Day

Visit Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site on Sunday December 11 from 1p-4p for the introduction of our newest Junior Ranger activity book created by a local 5th grader. Participate in hands-on activities, tour the house, hike in Eleanor’s footsteps, and earn your Junior Ranger badge. The first badge will be awarded during a special ceremony at 2:30p to the author, Mariama Dabo, a young person from Dutchess County. Others who have completed the book will be able to earn their badges at this time as well. Celebrate with us as we honor Mariama’s contribution to help other young people experience the park. 4th graders and their families can visit for free by going to www.everykidinapark.gov and printing a voucher. House tours are at 1p and 3p. The visitor center opens at 12:30p. Visit www.nps.gov/elro for more information about the park.
