Description

Muslima theologian, scholar, and public educator Jerusha T. Lamptey will explore Islamophobia in her talk, “Islamophobia: Headlines, Hate, and Hope,” on Monday, April 3, 6:00pm, in the Villard Room of Main Building. This event is free and open to the public. Lamptey is Assistant Professor of Islam and Ministry and Director of the Islam, Social Justice and Interreligious Engagement Program at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Her work and writing focus on Islamic feminism, inter-religious engagement, religious pluralism, and social justice. She is author of Never Wholly Other: A Muslima Theology of Religious Pluralism, which re-interprets the Qur’anic discourse on religious ‘otherness’ and diversity.
