7:00-7:40 Panel Discussion - How to Embrace the Characteristics of Leaders who Lead with Influence without Sacrificing their Authenticity.

Humility should not be confused with weakness.   Leaders possess humility when they have developed self-awareness. In other words, they know who they are and what they believe in. They recognize their limitations and blind spots. These leaders have an authenticity that people sense and naturally feel more connected to them. This connection is what distinguishes a leader who leads with influence from a leader who leads with formal authority.

Leaders who are authentic lead gracefully. This aspect of leadership is something women leaders can struggle with due to their caring nature. They often feel a ‘caring’ reputation can make them seem weak in their roles as leaders. The desire to fit some preconceived notion of what a leader should be can cause them to appear less transparent and authentic.
