New Directions '16

Description

Fifty-six artworks have been selected by distinguished juror Ms. Heather Pesanti, from nearly 600 nationwide entries, for display September 24 through November 5 at Barrett Art Center for the 32^ndannual New Directions exhibition.  With a number of local artists works among those selected, the region is well-represented, demonstrating the wealth of creative talent in the Hudson Valley. Local artists in New Directions ’16 include painter Kevin Frank (Kingston), photographer Roberto Hull (Poughkeepsie) and multi-media artist Vincent Serbin (Lake Katrine).  

The opening reception will be held on Saturday, September 24, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Juror awards with cash prizes will be announced at the reception.  A raffle at the event will feature prizes from Hudson Valley businesses and arts organizations, including gift certificates to Essie’s Restaurant in Poughkeepsie and Merritt Bookstore in Millbrook, as well as tickets to Locust Grove’s “Sunset Sensations” and the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra.

Cost: The reception is open and free to the public.

Gallery hours:      Wednesday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

                                    and Saturdays, noon – 4 p.m.
