Stringendo Gala Concert

Description

Stringendo, Inc., a Hudson Valley-based youth music organization, will return to the Bardavon 1869 Opera House on Sunday, March 31 at 3pm. The concert will feature Vivace and Chaconne, the organization’s advanced orchestras, as well as the Boysenberry, Cranberry, Mulberry, Raspberry & Strawberry fiddle groups.

The orchestras will perform a number of pieces by Mozart, Vivaldi, Grieg and Gade. The Fiddlers, who learn their selections solely by ear, will play pieces from various cultures including Scandinavian, Cape Breton, Traditional Folk and Old Time Classics.

Additionally the Raspberry and Strawberry Fiddle Groups will host a Silent Auction at the Gala Concert.  The proceeds of the auction will go toward funding the groups’ trip to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in April.
