Poughkeepsie, NY – The Dutchess County Medical Society along with invited guests Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and NYS Senator Sue Serino will be hosting an event to recognize Covid Healthcare Heroes from our local community for their selfless work to save lives. Dr. Manoj T. Abraham, President of the Dutchess County Medical Society, announced the six Honorees.  They are from Nuvance Health’s Vassar Brothers Medical Center nominated by Joseph J. Mullany, President:  Denise Quirk-Hall NP, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Dr. Timothy Collins, DO, Pulmonary Critical Care Specialist.  From MidHudson Regional Hospital nominated by J. Keith Festa, MD, Associate Director of Medical Affairs:  Dr. Daniela Stokes, MD, an Infectious Disease Specialist; Dr. Maqbool Murtuza, MD, Pulmonary Critical Care Specialist; and Dr. Zubair Khan, MD, Pulmonary Critical Care Specialist.  In addition, Elaine Suderio-Tirone, DNP, FNP, Family Nurse Practitioner.   

There will also be a panel discussion on Lyme disease treatment and prevention featuring experts from our local area including Dr. Stokes; Dr. Joshua Ginsberg, President of Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies; Dr Richard Horowitz of Hudson Valley Healing Arts Center; and Senator Serino. The event will be moderated by Dr. Abraham.

This will be an outdoor event by RSVP only to facilitate current social distancing regulations, and will also be live streamed at https://www.facebook.com/Dutchess-County-Medical-Society-135237919923294/live_videos/. The event will be held on Sunday, July 19th from 11 am - 2 pm  (backup date Saturday, August 29). The program will start at noon.

The Dutchess County Medical Society promotes the highest standards of trust, respect and excellence in the medical profession, while representing the practice of medicine and the status of public health in Dutchess County.
